2008 Tour Schedule of Cave Hill Cemetery

Cave Hill Cemetery announces the 2008 series of tours of its historic and beautiful grounds. There will be 3 different tours: Historical Walking Tour, Twilight Driving Tour (Tractor and Wagon) and Geological Tour.
The dates for these tours are:

The Historical tours are on Sundays, and begin at 1:00 p.m. The Twilight tours and the Cave Hill Geological Features tours are on the days and times listed above.
Steve Wiser, AIA, a local architect and historian, will lead the majority of the Historical Walking and Twilight Tours. Lee Squires, Superintendent, or J. Michael Higgs, Administration, will also lead Twilight Tours. Geological Tours will be led by Angelo George, a local consulting Geologist. Among the topics discussed will be geological elements, decorative monuments, and selected landscape features, trees and shrubs, and Louisville history.
Cave Hill Cemetery was chartered in 1848, and contains the gravesites of city founder George Rogers Clark, renowned Courier-Journal editor Henry Watterson (the namesake of I-264) and many other noted Louisvillians.
The cost of the Historical Walking Tour and Geological Tour is $25 per person. The Twilight Driving Tour Costs $35 per person. Reservations must be made in advance, and all proceeds benefit the Cave Hill Heritage Foundation.
