Interment Crew

Full-time

The interment crew assists in the burial or entombment of human remains or the inurnment of cremated human remains. Interments include digging graves, service setup and break down, and aftercare of service grounds.

General Cemetery Crew

Cave Hill Cemetery is looking for new team members to work on the General Crew. Applicants should have landscaping and mowing experience, display good attention to detail, and should enjoy working outside in a park-like setting in any kind of weather conditions. We are looking for both seasonal and full-time crew members.

Mechanic

Cave Hill Cemetery is looking for an experienced Small Engines and Diesel Mechanic. The candidate should be able to work independently and diagnose equipment problems. This is not an entry-level position. The position also requires preventative maintenance on mowers, blowers, trimmers, tractors, backhoes, and RTVs. Applicants should be self-motivated and professional, detail-oriented, and possess certification in small engine and diesel maintenance.

Assistant Gardener

Full-time
Pay: From $16 per hour

Schedule: 8 hour shift, Monday to Friday
Education: High school or equivalent (Required)
Experience: Landscape maintenance: 3 years (Preferred)
License/Certification: Driver's License (Required)
Work Location: On location

Cave Hill Cemetery is interviewing for full time assistant gardeners. Experience is preferred, but not required. Individuals hired would work under the supervision of an assigned Head Gardener. We will provide on the job training for candidates hired. If you have experience in landscaping, farming or a love for gardening, like to work outdoors and have a strong attention to detail, you may be the perfect fit for this job.

Requirements:

Must be trainable, have strong communication skills, the ability to collaborate with coworkers, active listening, and problem-solving skills.
Must be at least 18 years of age
High school diploma/GED required
Safety-minded
Comfort working outdoors in a fast-paced environment and in all weather conditions
Basic understanding of landscape and grounds maintenance
Excellent attendance and punctuality are expected
Must have valid driver's license

Responsibilities:

Install and maintain seasonal plants
Mulch, edge and weed gardens
Prune trees and trim shrubs
Maintain all gardening equipment and machinery
Monitor and maintain the health of plants
Keep gardens and green spaces clear of debris and litter

Skills:

Experience as a gardener or landscaper
Knowledge of regional plant life
Knowledge of local pests
Knowledge of synthetic and natural fertilizers
Ability to operate a utility vehicle
The ability to lift heavy objects
The ability to remain on your feet for long periods of time

Must pass a drug test and background check
